Tagua Nut Powder

Tagua nuts originate from huge fruits that grow on a few different palm species, and in our case, the Ecuadorian ivory palm. The fruit falls to the rainforest floor, where it's partially eaten by animals, then collected by local communities. In Ecuador, the nuts inside the fruit are used to make buttons, jewelry and statues, and our tagua nut powder is a by-product of this craft. The remaining nut pieces are saved and ground to produce a natural, biodegradable scrub.
