The makeup industry has a significant waste problem, with an estimated 120 billion units of packaging being produced each year—accounting for 70 percent of the industry's waste globally.

We are proud to offer innovative low- and no-waste packaging options to serve as an example that makeup doesn’t have to come at an environmental cost.

Our makeup line is packaged in easy to recycle glass packaging or recyclable plastics* and we have innovated completely packaging-free refillable lipsticks with the use of wax seals. You can either reuse a lipstick holder you already own or purchase one of our refillable cases, made from partly recycled aluminum and brass, remove the peelable wax seal from your new lipstick and voila! You have a new lipstick ready to help you make a statement!

*Everything but the mascara wand can be recycled, however, we encourage you to reuse the wand as an eyebrow spoolie!

Vegan and cruelty-free

Lush has been fighting animal testing for more than three decades. Everything we make is founded on the belief that animal testing is cruel and unnecessary—and we are proud to only test new products on human volunteers.

Along with being cruelty-free, all our products are 100 percent vegetarian and 95 percent of them are completely vegan. It will always be a priority for us to ensure everything we source is always bought in a way that safeguards the environment and its animals.
